Arc School Placement is a division of Arc Professional Development that helps families identify school programs that might suit their children, from pre-kindergarten through high school, and to apply successfully for admission. The firm also counsels parents regarding psycho-educational testing, admission testing, and other issues related to school admission.

Peter Braverman, the principal of Arc Professional Development, worked in independent schools for over 20 years, most recently for 11 years as the Middle School Head at Green Acres School in Rockville, Maryland. In that capacity Peter coordinated the process of applying to independent high schools, boarding schools, and public magnet schools for hundreds of families. During his time at Green Acres, over 88 percent of applicants were offered admission at their first-choice schools.

Peter began his career teaching grades 5 and 6 near Chicago, where he grew up. He has worked as a teacher, a director of communications, and division head (i.e., principal) at both high school and middle school levels. He has also served as a dormitory master, baseball coach, newspaper advisor, and consultant and speaker, as well as a writer and editor in various capacities.

Peter earned his bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan and his master’s degree in education at Harvard. He has interviewed dozens of families and applicants to elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools, as well as scores of college applicants, and he has served on various admission committees for most of his career.

The other division of Arc Professional Development is Arc Professional Services, which provides professional training and ongoing programs for teachers and administrators. Learn more about all of Arc Professional Development by clicking the logo below.
